First of all, it's important not to confuse the Volcano View Villas with the Volcano View Hotel, as although they are built next to each other, they are two separate entities. We'll be looking at the Volcano View Villas, five beautifully appointed private villas for anyone wanting a romantic, quiet and thoroughly luxuriant getaway on the island of Santorini.
Secondly, if you're looking forward to enjoying all the vibrant capital of Fira has to offer on a daily basis, be prepared to either enjoy a thirty minute stroll into town, or hop on to the Volcano View Villas' handy, regular private bus. For the Volcano View Villas is not the place to come expecting endless entertainment on your doorstep; it's the place to come when you expect endless tranquility and an incredible view.
Built on the cliffside overlooking the Aegean and the caldera, it will come as no surprise to those who know Santorini that the Volcano View Villas also offers an astounding view of the famed sunset – a perfect way to start a romantic evening. With just five villas, the service at the the Volcano View Villas is impeccable, thanks to an energetic management team who want nothing else except to see your holiday turn into a one you'll remember forever. Essentially, imagine your room comes with a concierge and you'll be close to the style of service at the Villas.
Each of the five villas available are named separately and each has its own look and feel. Villa Ianthi has two bedrooms, a very special bathroom with a hydromassage bath and outside on your private balcony, you'll find your very own pool. Villa Erotas offers the same level of luxury and again, its own private pool, while Villa Aphrodite is a split level maisonette complete with spacious living room, marble bathroom and of course, a sizable veranda in which the pool is housed. Villa Artemis is slightly different as in addition to your own pool, the bathroom has been significantly upgraded with a large Jacuzzi and a sauna!
Villa Sapphire rounds out the collection and is the largest of the five, suitable for up to five guests. Two bedrooms and a spacious living room pale in comparison to the stunning marble bathroom with its huge Jacuzzi and sauna room. Interestingly, the Volcano View Villas don't resemble cave-style rooms like many others on the island and actually feel more like an elegantly appointed hotel room with a Greek twist. This choice could have backfired and come across as sterile and characterless, however the granite flooring, summer colours and of course, the view from your window ensures you know you're on Santorini.
Since the Villas are not associated with a hotel as such, there is no restaurant, however with the addition of a kitchen inside each villas and a sumptuous breakfast served daily inside your villa, plus the chance to order an a la carte evening meal, it shouldn't be a concern. We do recommend renting a car while staying here as not only will it make evening dining a more varied experience, but you get to see the whole island too. With this in mind, we cannot think of a better place to rest, recuperate and spend time in the company of your loved one.
